“I started my private practice, Priority Care, to be the kind of doctor I always wanted to be, the kind everyone deserves. As a direct primary care physician, my patients’ visits aren’t rushed, and I’m always here for them when they need me most. My goal is to provide all of my patients with quality care, greater access, and better solutions all of the time.”
Dr. Melissa earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology at Millsaps University and her DO, Osteopathic Medicine, from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, Kansas City, MO. She completed her residency in family medicine at Carolina's Medical Center in Charlotte, NC and spent a month with Samaritan’s Purse in Kenya providing healthcare services. A resident of Charlotte for almost a decade, Dr. Melissa can be found walking the trails of the Evergreen Nature Reserve with Roscoe, her Mini Australian Shepherd, or riding her bike through different neighborhoods. She is also the founder of two book clubs that meet regularly, currently serving as Board President of Transcend Charlotte, and is a member of Plaza Midwood Merchants Association.
First and foremost, I am a wife and a mother! I have two beautiful daughters who never cease to amaze me and keep me on my toes 24/7. They are the light of my life and I am so blessed to be their mother. I grew up in Monroe, NC, needless to say I am a homegrown North Carolinian! I have been in the medical field in many capacities for close to 10 years with the small exception of a hiatus to explore other opportunities, but quickly realized that my passion and calling is the medical assisting world! I absolutely love to help people when they need it most and make sure that they are cared for and treated with the utmost respect and compassion. I enjoy the fact that this field is an ever-growing field, which means that I am also learning something new. I have always enjoyed learning new things; so much so, that my mother told me I should have been a professional student! My family is my top priority and I want to bring that same mindset and mentality to the care that I give every patient I encounter.
